Gas mileage?
Gas mileage is the Fuel economy and it is the relationship between
the distance you've traveled and the amount of fuel you have used.
You can calculate the fuel economy of your car using the following formulas,
if you need to calculate the fuel economy in "liters per 100 kilometers" the formula will be:
Fuel economy = Fuel used (liters) / distance (Kilometers) * 100
if you need to calculate the fuel economy in "miles per gallon US" the formula will be:
Fuel economy = distance (miles) / Fuel used (gallon US)
if you need to calculate the fuel economy in "miles per gallon UK" the formula will be:
Fuel economy = distance (miles) / Fuel used (gallon UK)
if you need to calculate the fuel economy in "Kilometers per liters" the formula will be:
Fuel economy = distance (Kilometers) / Fuel used (liters)
To calculate the Total price the formula is:
Price = Fuel used (liters, gallon US, gallon UK) * Fuel Price ($/liter, $/gallon US, $/gallon UK)
How to use MPG calculator
The fuel efficiency calculator estimates gas mileage on the basis of the number of kilometers covered
and the average fuel consumption of your car.
This calculator have 4 inputs:
Distance - how far you plan to travel (Kilometers , miles)
Fuel economy - the average fuel use of your car (liters , miles US , miles UK)
Fuel used - the quantity of fuel used (liters per 100 kilometers , miles per gallon US , miles per gallon UK , kilometers per liter)
Fuel price - the price of fuel ($/liter, $/gallon US, $/gallon UK)
And the result will be the Total price ($) of fuel used.
You can only use the 3 first inputs if you wanna know the Fuel economy of your car ,
so you can use the Distance input and the fuel used input to calculate your fuel economy,
or you can use the Fuel used input and the Fuel economy input to calcuate the possible distance that you can
travel using your car and specific quantity of gas,
or you can use the distance input and Fuel economy input to calculate the quantity that you need
to be able to travel that specific distance.
If you wanna calculate the total price for fuel required you would enter the price of gas you are using.
