This worksheet will help you to know about the Quadratic Equation. A quadratic equation is an equation of the form ax2 + bx + c = 0, where a, b and c are constants. Here b and c are co efficient of x2,x respectively the value of "a" should not be zero. In order to find the value of X we must know the value of a, b, c. In quadratic equation we will have two values for X.
Quadratic Equation Formula
For Example:
Calculate the value of X for the Quadratic Equation 4x2 + 1x - 6 = 0
Solution:
From the above equation
a = 4, b = 1, c = -6. By substituting these values in the above formula, we get roots as
X = (-1± √(12 - 4 x 4 x -6)) / 2x4
= (-1±9.8489) / 8
X1 = 1.1061 and X2 = -1.3561
Hence the resultant value for X are 1.1061, -1.3561
Practice Problem:
Solve the following equations
1. 4x2 - 7x + 3 = 0
2. x2 + 5x + 6 = 0
3. x2 + 2x + 10 = 0
4. x2 - 5x = 6
When you try such calculations on your own, this quadratic equation calculator can be used to verify your results of calculations.
